Christmas Greetings

Good evening, I am here to wish all of my friends and followers a Happy Christmas and a happy, healthy and creative New Year. A big thank you to all of you for you lovely comments and encouragement through out the year. I really appreciate your support.
This card  was made with a set of stamps from Heartfelt Creations, and shows the true and real meaning of Christmas.
I hope you all find some peace during the festivities, after all the hustle and bustle of preparation during the past few weeks, and that you get to spend time with those who are dear to you.

Birthday Glamour

Firstly I apologize for my lack of commenting lately, I have been  occupied with making the extra Christmas cards I found that I still needed, and also several family birthdays to make for this month as well.
One of these birthdays is my Grand daughters' which was this week. I wanted to make her a special card as she has had quite a tough time lately. She is currently recovering from back surgery and has three very young children to look after. Fortunately she has quite a bit of help available but it is still a bit of a struggle.
I used this Imagination Stencil and Imagination Sparkle Medium, red and gold. I saw a card made similar to this on their stand at the NEC show last month and wondered how they had achieved the two tone look. On closer inspection I realized that it was two layers, the top one being acetate. I loved the effect and decided I would have to give it a go, although I had never used the Sparkle Medium on acetate before. First I used the red sparkle through the stencil onto black card and left it to dry. I then repeated the process with gold Sparkle onto acetate. They both took quite a while to dry because of the weather conditions, so I left them till the next day. The base card for this is a white 8" square, huge compared to my usual cards. I cut a piece of black card to cover the front leaving a very narrow border. I then placed my two stenciled pieces together offsetting them slightly and fixed them together with a few glue dots on  the edges. I cut a frame from metallic red card and stuck it over the image hiding the glue dots, and then fixed it to the card front leaving a narrow black border. The sentiment was stamped on a snippet of black card with a Chocolate Baroque stamp using Versamark ink and embossed with WOW gold embossing powder. I cut it out with a Spellbinders small circle die, and I used a die from Spellbinders Exquisite Circles set to cut the mat from a snippet of the metallic red card. Having stuck them together I used foam pads to attach it to the card.
I apologize here for the terrible photo, I see there is a reflection of myself taking it which I hadn't noticed as I was concentrating on not getting a glare from the shiny surfaces.

I am entering this at Virginia's View Challenges - All About Glitter,  and as I have used a couple of snippets I 'll pop over to Pixie's Snippets Playground - Use Snippets.

Thank you for visiting here today and for your comments, I really appreciate them all.
